Visiting Hours

At Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque, we encourage our patients to have visitors. We know that the stronger a person’s support system is, the better their chances for long-term recovery are outside the hospital. Visits from loved ones during treatment can provide emotional support while helping to strengthen important relationships and set the stage for continued success.

All patients have assigned visitation days to ensure everyone’s safety. Please contact your loved one for their visitation day, and their passcode that allows us to facilitate your visit here at Haven. Visitation is from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on your loved one’s visitation days. Be sure to arrive promptly as we will be unable to escort anyone upstairs after 3:00 PM.

To expedite the check-in process, we request you take the time to download, print, and sign the form below.

Confidentiality of Information and Safety Acknowledgement for Visitors

To keep everyone safe, we ask visitors to comply with the following guidelines:

  • Visitors are required to make a reservation. Reservations can be made by calling our main phone number or by coordinating with the patient’s assigned therapist.
  • Visitors are required to bring a photo ID with them.
  • Due to safety concerns within the hospital, visitors will be subject to pocket checking and metal detection.
  • Due to safety concerns within the hospital, visitors will be subject to pocket checking and metal detection.
  • Patients are limited to 2 visitors at a time.
  • Photos of the visitor and the patient are allowed, but recording devices are not.

Visitation is not an appropriate time to discuss your loved one’s medical and/or psychiatric progress, as providers and social workers will be busy assisting other patients. If you have questions or concerns about your loved one’s care, please have them fill out a Release of Information form listing you as a party to whom we can disclose confidential health information.

Please note that we retain the right to end a visit if there is significant risk to patients, visitors or staff. All visits are limited to one hour, and we ask that you alert us in advance if either of the patient’s visitors is under the age of 18. Please reschedule your visit if you’re feeling sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Masks are encouraged.
