Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque Announces Expansion of Services

Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque is pleased to announce the expansion of the behavioral health services offered to the community.  Beginning at the end of February, in addition to the existing inpatient treatments for those 55 and older, Haven will offer services for the 40 to 54 age population.

In addition to new treatment programming, an additional 6500 square feet including 14 new beds will be added to the hospital. Haven’s expansion reflects a $2 million investment in the local economy and is creating more than 20 new jobs.

“It is with tremendous excitement that we are announcing our expansion to serve adults ages 40 to 54 with acute psychiatric illness, as well as those needing substance abuse treatment,” states Sheila McDermott-Lord, Chief Executive Offer for Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque. “This historically underserved population will benefit from individualized treatment planning and specialty programming. Our mission is to break down barriers and the social stigma surrounding these debilitating disease processes with hope, respect and, above all, a commitment to excellence.”

Construction of the new space is being done by Hawkins Group, an Albuquerque-based provider of construction management and design build options for building owners, developers and general contractors of integrated engineering and construction solutions for the general construction and vertical structure industry.

Construction is currently slated to be complete by the middle of February, with patients being accepted at the end of the month.
