Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque Collects Over 800 Items for Operation Keep Warm

holidayHaven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque, in partnership with NAMI-Albuquerque, recently collected winter items for homeless in the area and delivered them the first week of January through their annual “Operation Keep Warm” project.  Over 800 new hats, scarves, gloves and socks were collected through the project and distributed to homeless in the area.

Medical Resort won the contest by collecting over 300 items!  As a special thanks, they will receive a catered meal for their staff from the owners of Nick & Jimmy’s.

The “Havenly Angels” and NAMI-Albuquerque would like to thank the following community partners in this project for allowing donation boxes to be placed at their locations:  Skies Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Los Ranchos Gun Store, Rio Las Estancias, Red Rocks Care Center, Stellar Senior Housing, Albuquerque Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Bear Canyon Senior Center, Cibola General Hospital, Bear Canyon Estates, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church & School and The Alzheimer’s Association of New Mexico.  The donations were given to and distributed by the following local organizations who are dedicated to assisting the homeless in New Mexico:  Crossroads for Women, The Rock at Noonday, Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless and The Barrett Foundation.
